Coaching Workshops Summer 2018
Looking to improve your game?
Tyneside Badminton Centre is holding a series of coaching workshops over the Summer of 2018.
Who are the workshops for?
These workshops will be targeted at regular recreational players or lower league players, aged 14 or older. Players should know the basic rules of the game and be able to strike a shuttle overhead from the rearcourt to rearcourt. The content of the workshops is generally not suitable for beginners, who would be better attending our Thurday night beginner sessions.
When will they be held?
The sessions will be held on Monday evenings, 7-9pm.
How much will they cost?
Each workshop will cost £12, including VAT. Due to the restricted number of places payment must be made in advance, either by cash or card.
What will the workshops consist of?
The first hour will consist of coaching the selected topic. This will be largely practical in nature, with players on court. However the may be occasional short period of delivery involving other methods, such as using video, flipcharts etc. The second hour will be an opportunity for game play, wherever possible with small adaptations to the games designed to encourage use of the technique/tactic covered in the first hour.
What topics will be covered?
The topics covered can be downloaded here:Badminton Workshops.
You do not need to sign up for every workshop (you can if you want to!) and many individual workshops can be of value if attended in isolation. Some of the workshops however will be more effective if put together in small groups, as the topics are related. Where this is the case the downloadable document here will give you more information.
How do I book?
Just ring the Tyneside Badminton Centre on 0191 241 5385 or send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Payment can be made by cash or card.
Who is taking the sessions?
The sessions will be lead by Mike Woodward. For an overview of Mike’s profile, click here.
