Tyneside Badminton Centre CiC is celebrating the news that it has received a £24,341.00 funding award from SUEZ Communities Trust (formerly SITA Trust) for refurbishment to the Tyneside Badminton Centre.
Funding from SUEZ Communities Trust will allow re-flooring of three worn badminton courts to enhance the quality of the playing surface, reduce maintenance costs and improve safety.
Mike Woodward, the Operations Director of Tyneside Badminton Centre, said: “This is the second time since opening in 2003 that the centre has benefited from the SUEZ Communities Trust. On both occasions the funds have enabled us to develop the facility substantially, to the benefit of a wide variety of user groups. As a small Community Interest Company with limited resources, it would have been highly unlikely that we could have funded these improvements without their help.”
Marianne Ivin of SUEZ Communities Trust added “We are delighted to be funding Tyneside Badminton Club once again and their history has shown they are a very well used and highly regarded facility in the area. Helping to them to maintain the standard of the centre for future generations is a great outcome for our funding. SUEZ Communities Trust provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.4 billion.”
